Spot Information

Uluwatu, set against the dramatic cliffs of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula and near the iconic Uluwatu Temple, is home to one of the world’s most renowned high-performance reef breaks. This series of waves features multiple sections, each offering unique challenges for different skill levels and surfing styles, all delivering a world-class experience.

The spot consists of several peaks - The Peak, Racetrack, Outside Corner, and Temples - each offering its own character. From fast-running walls perfect for carving turns to deep, spinning barrels, Uluwatu provides a complete surfing experience. The wave breaks over sharp coral reef, creating both perfect walls and hollow sections.

The dry season (April to October) brings the most consistent conditions, with peak months seeing solid groundswells and favorable winds. The wave handles size extremely well, maintaining shape from 3 to 15 feet, with Outside Corner coming alive on the biggest swells.

Local tip: Pay attention to the tide, as it significantly affects wave quality and access. The cave paddle-out requires timing and local knowledge. Show respect to the temple and local customs by wearing proper attire when crossing temple grounds.
